Technology in the Classroom

Hello all!  This is my first ever blog post, so we will see how it goes. 

I am sitting in my technology training course right now for Bellevue Public Schools.  This is a great opportunity for us new teachers to mess around on the internet learning about new things to do in the classroom.

Have you ever heard of Flipping Classrooms?  Yeah, I hadn't either.  The jist of the idea is that your students will learn the lessons away from the classroom using taped recordings of the lesson.  Basically, I would take a video of myself teaching a lesson, place it on the internet, and the students can learn at their own pace.  When they come back into the room the following day, they will then work on their 'homework'.  This is a great opportunity for me to spend my time working with the students on the pieces that will count towards their grade.
